Survivors Among Us (Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser)

What: Competition Event & Beginner Workout to raise $ for breast cancer early detection awareness. Also, to honor the survivors. (WORKOUTS ARE LISTED AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE)

Who: CrossFitters from any gym are encouraged to participate in the 1 WOD individual competition to support the cause and first timers who want to try a beginner CF workout and support the cause. 

Cost of the Event: There are 3 donation amounts which apply to the competition and beginner workouts.

1) $25: Competition or Beginner WOD

2) $35: Competition or Beginner WOD + CFIII pink socks

3) $55: Competition or Beginner WOD + CFIII pink socks + CFIII "Merica" shirt or tank (discounted shirt price for this comp only-WHILE SUPPLIES LAST)

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. Each year, its estimated that over 220,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die.

But that also means that over 180,000 will survive, thrive and live to tell another tale. How awesome is that?

At CrossFit III we want to honor the survivors of breast cancer with a fundraiser to promote awareness of early detection.

Early detection saves lives! When breast cancer is detected early (localized stage), the 5-year survival rate is 98%!

Let's honor our friends and loved ones who were diagnosed with breast cancer, but fought it like girls and won! They are survivors and we honor them, their courage, determination and will to live a better life each and every day.

30 Wall Ball Sit Ups

30 Wall Balls (20#/10', 14#/9')

1 min UB Plank 

400m Med Ball Run (20#, 14#)

30 Wall Ball Sit Ups

20 Ground to Overhead (115#/75#)

1 min UB Plank

20 Bar Over Burpees

Beginner WOD:

15 min AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible) of:

10 Air Squats 

15 Sit Ups

10 Bench Dips

30 sec Plank
