    Saman Hero WOD – BACKGROUND
    CrossFit has a tradition of honoring fallen heroes who have died while saving others. This workout will be done to honor retired Thai Navy SEAL and Petty Office First Class Saman Kunan.

    Khun Saman died while diving through a flooded cave (Tham Luang) supplying air tanks to a group of 12 young students and their coach who were trapped 3.2 kilometers into the flooded cave. He successfully delivered the tanks, but died on the return dive on July 6.

    Khun Saman was 38 years old, and volunteered for the mission to rescue the boys. The rescue involved dozens of people from many different countries, with a very dangerous and complex rescue into a flooded cave with extremely narrow passages.

    All of the children and their coach were successfully rescued.

    The workout explained is:
    - 8 rounds because the kids were 3.2 km inside the cave 400m x 8 = 3.2 km
    - 13 for the boys and their coach
    - 17 for the how long they were trapped inside the cave

     *This is the Outlaw Way Snatch efficiency baseline. We did this last on 6/13/17. Score is total reps completed in 7 minutes. There are only 2 attempts allowed during the EMOM portion. The goal is to test consistency of technique and repeatability under load.
     **Example of score: 18 (successful) of 20 (attempts) @ 125#

    -2 Partners, switch at any time until 5000 meters has been completed 

    -THE CATCH: Partner 1 rows while partner 2 statically holds a movement (choose any from list.) Rowing can only occur when the partner is in a static hold. Partner 2 can stop the wall sit (rowing stops immediately) and move to another static hold or change to rowing or even go back into the wall sit at any time.
